Superior Boiler Works & Welding Ltd. began its operations in 1962 on Superior St., hence the name. As a small business we started by retubing and servicing boilers in the local Hamilton area. Later, we incorporated boiler installations and process piping for heat exchangers. We were slowly growing into a full fledged mechanical contracting business. In 1983 a significant business decision was made in order to foster further growth in the company. We relocated to our current site at 120 Brockley Drive with all 13 employees. Then from 1988 through to 1990 we expanded again and opened a 10,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and fabrication facility. In the process we also acquired ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) certification to build boilers, pressure vessels, and piping accessories. At that point we had a total of 20 employees. Further expansion occurred in 1996 when we increased the size of our manufacturing facility to 25,000 sq. ft. by which point our employee total equaled 39. Our most recent expansion occured in the year 2000 when we opened a service branch in Concord, Ontario to better facilitate the greater Toronto area. We currently have a total of 55 employees and our most recent endeavor in 2001 has been the start of a boiler rental division.
